Black History Month Art Contest

2022-02-28 The 1st Annual Black History Month Art Contest!

The Contest:

Medway residents in grades K-12 were invited to create an original piece of art that depicts the life and work of influential Black Americans who contributed to science/medicine or expanded community health access.

  • Size: Art pieces should be no smaller than 9.5”x11” and no larger than 24”x36”
  • Medium: All art mediums will be accepted  (crayon, marker, oil/chalk pastels, pencil, paint, collage, etc.), however digital art will not be accepted.
  • Deadline for Submissions: February 25, 2022
  • All Artwork was judged by the following criteria: Originality (Be creative!), Education (What will this artwork teach your audience?), and Craftsmanship (How much care and effort did I put into this?).
  • Art pieces should initially be photographed/scanned and submitted via email. 
  • Optional Artist’s Statement: You may include a brief Artist’s statement to help the judges understand your artwork.
  • Winners were announced on February 28, 2022
  • Prizes: Prizes were provided by Altitude Trampoline Park!
