Who is

Medway Marches

History

It all began with a March...

On a warm and sunny Sunday on June 7th, 2020 about 1,000 Medway residents took to the Medway streets in a peaceful march from the Medway Middle School to Choate Park.  Following the murder of George Floyd many Medway Marchers of all ages, from all walks of life, filled the streets dressed in black in solidarity and unity.  The message filling chants and signs was that of zero tolerance for racism and injustice.

Following the march participants joined together at the Thayer House and listened as fellow residents, the Medway Police Chief, Harvard Scholars, Students, and other Demonstrators delivered heartfelt stories and speeches filled with education, pain and requests for help.

But it didn’t stop there!

In the aftermath of such a successful event many were searching for more guidance, answers and programming and it begged the question, what now!?  From there Medway Marches was born, and our mission of creating a more inclusive community for people of color in Medway created.

Today Medway Marches is a nonprofit, 501(c)(3) organization, fueled by grass-root support and impassioned to empower, educate, and enrich our community.
